HBO Teams up with Marijuana Companies to make THC Gummies as a Promotion for Upcoming Series

HBO is teaming up with marijuana company Kanha to create a line of THC gummies to promote their new upcoming TV show Close Enough set to premiere later this month. These gummies will be available in San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles dispensaries. They will also be available for delivery through Eaze. The promotion will last through the end of July or until supplies last. There will be four flavors that are meant to reflect upon the personalities of the four main characters.

The four flavors named after the characters.

Here’s HBO in their own words describing each of the flavors:

Here’s a trailer for the upcoming series. You can stream it on HBO Max starting July 9th.

Now what is very interesting about this is that this is probably the first major media company to be openly working with the cannabis industry. Also, this show isn’t even about marijuana and doesn’t even mention anything of the sort in the trailer. This series was created by J.G. Quintel, the creator of the Emmy Award-winning show The Regular Show, Close Enough seems to be, from what I see in the trailer, an adult animated comedy about a fairly young couple and their 5-year-old daughter living with their two divorced best friends as they try to juggle their work and family lives in their crazy world. It seems that HBO is the first major media company to realize that people like to consume marijuana and enjoy some TV. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing more entertainment companies take advantage of this opportunity. With the coronavirus shutting down many studios we may not be getting live-action films and TV for a while. We could potentially be seeing much more animated films and TV so the opportunity is there. It’s without a doubt that comedies, especially animated ones, will always be enjoyed by many especially after getting high. Hell, anything HBO makes is always better after getting a little stoned except for the last few seasons of Game of Thrones that stuff was garbage.
