Cannabis Cookbook Recommendations

If you’re a serious home chef, you should have a dedicated bookshelf somewhere in your home for a curated selection of your favorite cookbooks.

In my case, I rock a three-tier, five-foot tall recycled-repurposed-repainted shelf stashed into an awkward but perfect nook right at the end of my counter. It is old, somewhat rickety, sports some rough edges, and is painted psychedelic lime green, and I love it like my first born child. That green shelf is home to my NY Times Original Cookbook (an old edition bought used on the cheap), a couple of Ina Garden standards, my Betty Crocker binder (‘cuz my mom and grandmas all had ‘em), a Moosewood recipe collection, a massive Martha Stewart tome gifted by my mother-in-law, and a shit-ton of old Cooking Lights I’d saved to be cannibalized and added to my own growing recipe collection (a recipe book with a half-dozen hand-written creations plus tons of index cards with pilfered favorites from family and friends).

Now, if you’re also serious about your cannabis cooking, you’ll want to start growing out your library of cookbooks on the subject. And since at least some of us are going to be cooped up for a little while longer thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, now’s the perfect time to add to your culinary knowledge and build up your home library with these cannabis cookbook recommendations that are available now or on sale soon at amazon.com.

FOR THE COOK WHO WANTS THE BASICS FOR HEALTHY CANNABIS COOKING

Cooking with Cannabis: More than 100 Delicious Edibles (Volume 1) By Pat Crocker

Pat Crocker knows her herbs—according to her author bio, "she’s been honored twice by the International Herb Association’s Professional Award for outstanding contributions…” and she’s also won the Gertrude H. Foster Award for Excellence in Herbal Literature from the Herb Society of America. Here, Crocker tackles a different kind of herb, and packs this volume with loads of practical information on how to cook with both raw and de-carbed (psychoactive) cannabis, as well as a wide range of healthy recipes that use just a mellow 5mg of THC per offering, so you’ll never pass out directly after consuming the Mini Quiche with arugula and smoked salmon.
